2020 Covid 19 Updates and Information:
We will be limiting the number of runners this year, especially for the Relay, so we have less people gathering at the exchanges. Caps: Marathon 150, Half Marathon 400, and 25 Relay teams for Sunday and 75 for the 5K on Saturday. Right now, we still have room in all distances. This will allow us to have more flexibility to adapt to the changing protocols to help keep runners and volunteers safe.
Masks will be required at packet pick up and on the buses. The busses will be transporting runners to their respective start lines at half capacity. There is plenty of parking at Crazy Horse. We encourage you to either park at Crazy Horse, or be dropped off there.
There is plenty of room at the start to social distance yourself at Crazy Horse. We are planning to start in waves of around 50, every few minutes to allow more space. These corrals will be determined by your pace. If you are uncomfortable starting in the small groups, you may start on your own after the rest of the field. We will allocate a specific period of time for you to start. The event is chip timed, so now worries about age group placing or overall place position. We will provide information on the start times 2 weeks prior to the race.
Drop Bags. Please help us by not using our drop bag perk unless absolutely necessary. We would like to reduce gear bags for less contact, and are encouraging runners that will be parking or getting dropped off to keep your belongings in your vehicle.
We will be limiting the number of aid stations to approximately every 5 Miles. You will need to carry your own hydration vessel. Volunteers will be wearing masks and gloves and will fill your bottle from pitchers. You will need to remove your own lid.
Aide station food will be limited and prepackaged. If you have anything specific you like to eat, plan to bring your own snacks
We will have hand sanitizer available throughout the course and extra handwashing stations at the Port-O-Lets and Aide stations.
When you finish, you will be directed through the finish chute and will pick up your own medal, prepackaged snack/water/ chocolate milk. Please keep moving through the finish chute and snack area quickly. If you choose to hang around finish area for a few minutes, please continue to practice safety precautions. If you need a shuttle back to your vehicle at Crazy Horse, they will be running at half capacity and masks will be required.
If you are registered, and something changes due to COVID in your area, we will offer a virtual run.
And Lastly…. Please be respectful of everyone’s space and adhere to all safety precautions. Do not do not come if you are sick!
As we’re sure you are aware, recommendations, mandates and guidelines could change dramatically between now and Event day. Updates will be posted on Facebook and our COVID 19 page on our website
We expect, and appreciate your cooperation. Runners are a family, a tribe, let’s all work together to keep ourselves, and everyone in our family safe and healthy!
