Relay Information
The 5 person Marathon Relay will feature four categories; Male, Female, COED, and Masters (all team members 40 or older). The winning team in each category will be presented a trophy. There must be 3 teams in a category for an award to be presented.
The relay exchange points:
- Exchange 1- Start to White Horse Rd (7.4 miles)
- Exchange 2-in Hill City, On Museum Rd behind Slate Creek Grill ( 5.9 miles)
- Exchange 3-to High Country Ranch (4.9 miles)
- Exchange 4- incoming to finish at Burnt Fork Road (4.2 miles)
- Exchange 5- to finish (3.8 miles)
Relay Driving Directions (pdf)
Teams are responsible for the transportation of their runners to relay exchange stations. Runner doing the first leg can either ride the bus provided for other marathon runners from Palmer Gulch or Hill City to the Start Line, or the Team can drop their first runner at Crazy Horse Memorial at the Start Line. If you choose to take your runner to the Start Line, you MUST be out of the Crazy Horse Memorial Grounds and on your way to Relay Exchange Point #1 by 7:45am as traffic will be delayed within the memorial once the race starts.
